The Krishnapura Matha had performed the Baale Muhurta, The first of the four major preliminary Muhurthas one year before of the Paryaya festival.
During the Baale Muhurtha, plantain saplings along with Sugarcan saplings and Thulasi plants were planted on the premises of the Matha. Thiswill be done to ensure plentiful supply of plantain leaves, which are used for “Anna Dana” (mass feeding) and Thulasi used for Pooja at the ShriKrishna Matha.
An elaborate rituals marked during the Baale-Muhurtha where after offering prayers at the Shri Krishnapura Matha, a group of devotees, scholars and priests visit the Shri Chandramouleshwara Temple, Shri Anantheshwara Temple and Shri Krishna Matha to offered prayers. They then carried the plantain, thulasi and sugarcane saplings in a procession on Car Street, Udupi and the saplings were planted amid the chanting of mantras on the premises of Shri Krishnapura Matha later.

The second preliminary Muhurtha will be Akki Muhurtha, the third one will be Kattige Muhurtha and last will be the Bhatta Muhurtha, respectively.
