Paryaya Mahotsava Procession and Darbar at Rajangana Udupi.
Before ascending the Paryaya Peeta, the Paryaya Mahotsava procession was held on 18th January 2022 from Jodukatte to Sri Krishna Matha Udupi. Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji had a dip at the Danda Tirtha near Kaup about 10km from Udupi. Thereafter, he arrived at JoduKatte, where he was welcomed by the devotees.
The Swamijis of the Ashta Maths followed the chief deity, with Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji. The procession passed through the Taluk Office Road – Court Road – Diana Circle and Thenkapete, before culminating at Car Street.
The Ashta Matha seers who took part in the celebrations are Sode Vadiraj Mutt seer Vishwavallabha Theertha Swami, Kaniyur Mutt seer Vidyavallabha Theertha Swami, Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swami, Palimaru Mutt senior seer Vidhyadheesha Theertha Swami and junior seer Vidhyarajeshwara Theertha Swami and Shiroor Mutt seer Vedavardhana Theertha Swami.
The process culminated with the grand ‘Paryaya Darbar’ was held at Rajangana in the presence of the seers of all the eight mathas of Udupi.
Shri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji was speaking at the Darbar organised for the incoming Paryaya of Shri Krishnapura Matha at Rajangana on Jan 18th Jan 2022. “During this Pandemic situation, I never expected that people would support me but I am very much happy that people are supporting me in a big way. I will not fail the devotees’ expectations during my two years of the Paryaya Tenure”.
Outgoing Paryaya Swamiji Sri Eshapriya Theertha, Shri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimar Matha, Shri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Matha, Shri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Matha, Shri Vishwallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sode Matha, Shri Vidyarajeshwara Theertha, Junior Swamiji of Palimar Matha, Shri Vedavardhana Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Matha graced the occasion.
